Yesterday, my niece showed up with a pumpkin spice coffee, and I thought, Hold on just a dang minute—it’s not even fall yet! It was a funny little reminder of how quickly time moves on, whether we’re ready or not. Some years I’m super eager for fall to come with football, sweatshirts, and firepits. Other years, like this one, I want to savor every last minute of summer. But time doesn’t consult our preferences. Seasons come and go, and our calling as followers of Jesus is to make the most of each one.
So here’s a question for you: What season of life are you in right now? Take a moment to truly reflect. Is it a joyful season? A busy one? Maybe a season of growth for your kids, or a season of challenge as you watch them become more independent—or wish they would! Perhaps it’s a season of worry, doubt, or even grief. Or maybe you’re in a sweet season of peace and stability. Wherever you find yourself, acknowledge it honestly. Take heart and give thanks. God is faithfully present in every single season, whether it feels easy or hard, long or fleeting.
Let’s commit together to be intentional—squeezing every drop of joy out of this season, learning whatever lesson God has for us, and trusting Him for what’s ahead.“There is an occasion for everything, and a time for every activity under heaven.” – Ecclesiastes 3:1 (CSB)
