2 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
We continue a weekly Summer Psalm meditation on Psalm 103.
Next to verse 2, I have written in the margin of my Bible, “The Benefits Package of God.”
How many times have you considered a job based in large part on the benefits that organization would offer you? Paid Vacation, Health Insurance, a 401(k)–with employer matching!.
Have you ever considered the benefits of knowing God? Of loving Him? Of following Him? Before you read on in the Psalm, I encourage you to journal some of the personal benefits you’ve experienced from the Lord.
What are the greatest blessings and gifts in life? Our family and friends of course. But what about the intangibles? The spiritual blessings that we have in Christ that we maybe take for granted? The hope of heaven for example?
Take some time this week with your family and brainstorm all the benefits you experience because you are blessed to be a part of God’s organization!

and forget not all his benefits,
