Merry Christmas!
We all know how hectic this week can be for parents trying to create a magical, perfect, nostalgic Christmas for the family. Since I have always been one of Christmas’s biggest fans, I tend to think it’s a worthy goal to work to make Christmas “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.”
But by all means, give yourself a break. You don’t have to be perfect. The meal doesn’t have to be perfect. The gifts don’t have to be perfect. The memories don’t have to be perfect.
In fact, isn’t that the WHOLE point of Christmas?
We can’t be perfect.
We needed Him.
We needed Jesus to come down from heaven. We needed Him to put on our flesh, to walk through our world, facing temptations, facing disappointments, facing constant demands from the crowds. We needed him to go all the way to the cross. We needed Him to be perfect. And He was.
So we don’t have to be!
So have fun! Make great memories. Make it the best Christmas you can! But let Jesus be perfect. He’s good at it!
“For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.” Hebrews 4:15
